Welcome survey

The one-off survey you take the first time, its two optional sections, and what your employer sees from each.

On for most organisationsMost organisations have this from their first day on the platform.

The first time you open a check-in, you get a welcome survey instead. It takes about two minutes and gives a baseline for your later check-ins. You can answer as much or as little as you like, and the first section on its own counts as complete.

Where to find it

Your first check-in email, which says "Your welcome survey is ready". If your employer uses the full Alltoogether app, a banner on the home page and on My Wellbeing invites you to start it until you have done it.

Section A: work and wellbeing

Nine questions, one at a time, with no consent step. They cover how able you feel to do your job, burnout, job satisfaction, whether you are thinking of leaving, workload, whether you can reach the benefits you have, overall health, sleep, and confidence with money.

If a fortnightly round is open, finishing Section A counts as your check-in for it. Your answers join the organisation's figures in the same way as any other check-in, as averages of five or more people.

Your answers on overall health and sleep are also kept with your health check-in, so the health check-in does not ask them again.

Choosing the optional sections

After Section A you are thanked and shown two further sections, each with its own checkbox. Both boxes start ticked. Untick any section you would rather skip, then press Continue, or finish here.

Nothing about your choice is saved until you press Continue. When you do, your choice for each section is recorded against your account, along with the version of the consent wording you were shown.

The two sections carry different promises about what your employer sees, so they are kept separate.

About you

Seven questions about your circumstances: neurotype, caring responsibilities, a long-term health condition, shift work, the kind of support you prefer, the health and wellbeing areas that matter most to you, and how well you know your benefits.

Your employer never sees your individual answer. They see these topics only as anonymous shares of the whole organisation, and only once five or more people have answered. The figures show what the workforce needs from policies and benefits, never who said what.

This section is not the way to ask for a workplace adjustment. If you need one, speak to your manager or HR directly.

Your health

A short screen explains that the next questions are about your health and that these answers are personal. Your employer never sees them in any form, including as an average.

When you finish

You see "Thanks, you're all set". If your employer uses the full Alltoogether app, there is a link to your dashboard. If they use the check-in on its own, you can close the page.

Support lines are at the bottom of every screen of the welcome survey, as they are on every check-in. See Support.

Good to know

  • You take the welcome survey once. It cannot be completed a second time.
  • After the welcome survey, each fortnightly round is three questions. See The check-in.
  • The welcome survey is open to everyone in an organisation that has the check-in switched on, whichever way your employer uses Alltoogether.
