Announcements
Post news to your people's feed, aimed at everyone or at one department, location or policy, with one email to each person.
Announcements are posts from you to your people. Write one, choose who it is for, and publish. It appears in the feed of everyone in that audience, and each of them gets one email about it. Nobody outside the audience sees it.
Where to find it
Announcements under Manage in the admin portal.
Write a post
Give it a title and a one-line summary. The summary is what people see as the preview in their feed.
Write the full content and pick a category: Announcement, Company News, Wellbeing, Benefits, Social or Other. Add a link if you want people to go somewhere.
Choose the audience. Pick everyone, or narrow it to one department, one location, or the members of one of your live benefit policies.
Publish it now, or save it as a draft and publish it later.
Aim it at one group
Aiming a post at a policy is useful when something changes for the people on that cover and nobody else, for example a new claims number or a change at renewal. Only policies that are currently live are offered. If a policy lapses, older posts aimed at it keep their label, but you cannot aim a new post at it.
Department and location audiences follow the department and location on each person's record, including records that come in from a connected HR system. As long as a department or location name means one thing in your organisation, people are linked to it automatically, whatever the capitalisation.
The email
When a post is published, each person in the audience gets a notification in their in-app inbox and one email. Emails go out in batches every 15 minutes, and each notification is sent once and only once.
People who have switched email notifications off in their own settings still see the post in their feed. They just do not get the email.
Manage your posts
The screen keeps two lists, Published and Drafts, with a count on each. Every post shows its title, category and publish date. From the list you can publish a draft, unpublish a published post, or delete one.
What your people see
Your posts appear in their Feed, newest first, alongside other company news and, where it is switched on, recognition. They can filter the feed by tab, and open a post to read the full text and follow its link.
Good to know
- Each post goes to one audience. To reach two departments, post twice.
- Unpublishing takes a post out of people's feeds. Deleting removes it altogether.
Questions
Save it as a draft and publish it when you are ready. Publishing is the moment it reaches people.
No. Only the people in the audience you chose see it in their feed or get the email.
They may have switched email notifications off in their own settings. The post is still in their feed.
