Total Reward statements

Generate a statement of each person's whole package, add your own items, and publish when you are ready.

On for most organisationsMost organisations have this from their first day on the platform.

A Total Reward statement shows each person what their whole package is worth, as one headline figure with the parts broken out underneath. Pay is only one line. The statement also counts the employer pension, the employer-paid cost of the insured benefits they are on, salary sacrifice and the value of their annual leave. You generate the statements, check them as drafts, and publish when you choose.

Where to find it

Total Reward under Insights in the admin portal.

Choose the year

Each year has its own set of statements, with its own drafts, published statements and actions. Pick the year at the top of the screen. You can go back to 2020 and forward to next calendar year.

Generate the drafts

One action creates a draft statement for every active employee for the chosen year. Each draft combines the pay data on the employee's record with the employer cost of the policies they are a member of. The figures it draws on are:

  • salary, bonus, commission, overtime, car allowance and other cash
  • the employer pension contribution
  • the employer cost of private medical, dental, optical, cash plan, life assurance and income protection cover
  • the salary sacrifice total
  • the value of annual leave.

Drafts are never visible to your people.

Add your own items

Some things are not captured automatically, such as a gym membership or another perk you pay for. You can add your own line items to an individual person's draft statement before you publish it, and remove them again if you change your mind.

Publish

Check the drafts on screen.
Publish one person's statement at a time, or use Publish all drafts to publish every remaining draft for the year in one go.
Each person whose statement you publish gets a notification in the app and by email saying it is ready, with a link to their rewards page.

You can unpublish a statement at any time. It goes back to draft and disappears from that person's page.

Live figures

The total on your admin list and the total on the person's own statement are worked out the same way, from the live data on their employee record. If you change someone's salary, bonus, commission, car allowance, employer pension or annual leave value after publishing, both screens show the new figure straight away. You do not need to generate the statement again.

What your people see

Each person sees their own published statement and nobody else's. The headline figure sits above numbered sections for base salary, pension, health and wellbeing, and protection and lifestyle, with time off and additional benefits where they apply. Every figure starts blurred, and they press Show figures to reveal them, because people often open their statement in shared spaces. Where a PDF of the statement is attached, they can download it.

Good to know

  • To change a figure, change its source. Update the pay or pension data on the employee record, or talk to your adviser about policy memberships. Your own added items are the one thing you edit on the statement itself.
