Your benefits

See the insurance policies you are a member of, what each one covers, how to claim, and the support services and perks that come with them.

On for most organisationsMost organisations have this from their first day on the platform.

Benefits shows the insurance policies you are a member of, in plain English. You can see what each one covers, how to claim where that applies, and the support services that come with it.

Where to find it

Benefits in the menu (and in the bottom bar on your phone), or the Explore Benefits shortcut on your home page.

The page opens on Your Benefits with three tabs: My Benefits, What Am I Covered For? and Support Services & Company Perks. If your employer has switched on Offers or the Shop, a fourth tab called Offers appears too.

My Benefits

This tab lists every current policy you belong to, grouped by type (medical, life, income protection, cash plan, critical illness, dental and other), with a count at the top.

Each policy is a card with the insurer's logo, the product name, your member number, your cover type and its status. Tap a card to open its detail page.

Only current memberships show. When a policy lapses or ends, or your leaving date is entered and reached, that membership drops off the list.

If you are not a member of anything yet, you see "No active benefits" with a note to contact your HR team if you think that is wrong.

A policy's detail page

The detail page starts with the insurer and product, then a short plain-English explanation of that type of benefit. Below that are your cover details, grouped into sections. What appears depends on the product. Medical cover might show the excess, the hospital list, cancer cover and mental health cover. Life cover might show the benefit basis, the multiple of salary or the lump sum. Income protection might show the deferred period, the payment period and how incapacity is defined.

Anything left blank on your policy record is left off the page.

Where medical cover has a hospital list, the page links to a Hospital Finder.

On a Group Life Assurance page you can also manage your beneficiary nomination form. See Life cover nominations.

Need to claim?

Private medical insurance and cash plan pages can carry a Need to claim? panel. It can include a Call to claim number you can tap to ring from your phone, a support email, and links to the insurer's own member app on the App Store or Google Play. If none of these exist for your policy, the panel does not show.

What Am I Covered For?

This tab puts every cover detail from all your policies in one searchable list, grouped by product. Type in the search box to filter by the term (for example "excess"), by its value, or by product.

Each product group opens with a short explanation of that type of benefit. Insurance terms that need explaining, such as excess, underwriting or deferred period, have a small info button beside them. Tap it for a plain-English definition, then close it with Got it.

If nothing is loaded for you yet, the tab says "Coverage details coming soon".

Support services and insurer apps

This tab lists the extra services attached to your policies, such as an employee assistance helpline, a virtual GP or a member portal.

Some services are pinned to a Quick Access strip at the top. You can search, or filter by wellbeing area (Mental and Emotional, Physical, Financial, Social). Each card has buttons to open the service or call it. Open Full details for how to access it, any access code, and links to the app on the App Store or Google Play.

If no services are linked to your policies yet, you see "No services linked yet".

Company perks

Below the support services, your employer can list its own extras, such as lunches, schemes or discounts. Each perk has a name, an icon and a description, and may have a Find out more link or a document. If your employer has not added any, this section does not appear.

Benefit information entered by your employer

Your employer may also record benefits it arranges itself, from its own policy paperwork. These sit in a labelled section above your other benefits, with the provider, the product, the source document and when your employer last confirmed them.

Each one tells you where you stand: "Included, confirmed by your employer", "Added by your employer, not yet confirmed", or "Not recorded as included". If your employer has not reconfirmed the details recently, or the recorded end date has passed, the card stays visible with a notice that the information may be out of date. Ask your HR team if anything looks wrong.

Good to know

  • You only ever see your own memberships. Opening a link to a policy that is not yours, or to one that has ended, takes you back to the Benefits page.
  • Eligibility wording such as entry age and cover cease age is kept for your HR team and does not show here.
  • The plain-English explanations describe each type of benefit in general. Your own cover is in the details beside them, and your policy booklets under Documents may say more.
