Recognition

Thank a colleague in public, tag the company value they showed, and react to and comment on recognition across your organisation.

Switched on per organisationRecognition appears only if your employer has switched it on. If you cannot see Recognition in your menu, it is not on for you.

Recognition is a way to thank a colleague where everyone can see it. You write a short message, tag the company value they showed if you want to, and it goes into a feed the whole organisation can read, react to and comment on.

Where to find it

Recognition in the menu, or the Give Recognition shortcut on your home page.

Give recognition

Select Give Recognition.

Search for the colleague you want to thank and pick them. You can choose anyone active at your organisation except yourself.

If you like, tag one of your company's values and add a short title (up to 100 characters).

Write your message (up to 500 characters). A message is required.

Select Send Recognition. The form closes and your recognition appears in the feed.

The send button stays unavailable until you have picked a colleague and written a message.

The recognition feed

The feed shows recognition from across your organisation, newest first, with any pinned posts at the top. Each post shows who gave it, who received it and their job title, the value it was tagged with, the title if there is one, the message and the date.

To see recognition for one value, use the value buttons above the feed. Select All to see everything again. The feed shows the 50 most recent posts, and the value filter works within those.

If nobody has posted yet, you see "No recognitions yet. Be the first to recognise a colleague!"

React and comment

Under each post you can react with one of five emoji: love, celebrate, fire, clap or star. Your own reaction is highlighted, and selecting it again takes it off. You can see how many of each reaction a post has.

Select the comment button to open the thread under a post and add your own comment. The button shows how many comments there are before you open it.

Company values

Your employer sets the company values you can tag, each with a name, a description, an emoji and a colour. If a value is later removed, past recognition stays in the feed without that tag.

Good to know

  • Every recognition is visible to everyone at your organisation. There is no private option.
  • Your HR team can see the recognition feed from their own portal.
  • If your employer runs coins and pays them for recognition, giving and receiving recognition can both earn coins. They are added automatically.
  • Recognition you have received can also show in the What's New list on your home page.
