Coins and rewards

Check your coin balance, see how to earn coins, redeem them for gift cards, and follow your redemption and transaction history.

Switched on per organisationCoins appear only if your employer has switched them on. If you cannot see Coins & Rewards in your menu, they are not on for you.

Your employer can reward you with coins for things you do in the app. Coins build up in your balance, and once you have enough you can swap them for a gift card from a range of brands. Your employer decides what earns coins, how many, and which brands you can choose from.

Where to find it

Coins & Rewards in the menu, or Coins in the bottom bar on your phone. If your home page shows your coin balance, its Redeem Rewards link goes to the same place.

Your balance

The top of the page shows how many coins you have and roughly what they are worth in pounds, using your employer's own rate. You also see how many coins you have earned and redeemed in total, and a weekly streak badge when you have one going.

The five most recent times you earned coins are listed underneath.

How to earn coins

The How to earn coins cards show each activity your employer pays coins for, and how many coins each one pays. Depending on how your employer has set things up, this can include completing onboarding, giving recognition to a colleague, or being recognised. Only activities your employer has switched on are shown.

You earn coins by doing the activity itself in the app, never from the coins page. If your employer pays coins for recognition, they are added automatically when the recognition is sent.

Redeem coins for a gift card

Your employer sets a minimum balance before you can redeem. Until you reach it, a banner tells you how many you need and the Redeem buttons read Not enough coins.

Browse the rewards. You can search by brand name or filter by category.

Select Redeem on the brand you want.

Use the slider to choose how many coins to spend. It stays within that brand's minimum and maximum value and your balance, and shows the value in pounds and what your balance will be afterwards.

Confirm. You see a message that your reward has been redeemed and is being processed.

Your order is placed with our gift card partner. If the order fails, your coins go straight back into your balance. If your organisation's rewards account is not fully set up yet, you see "Rewards aren't switched on for your organisation yet" and your coins are returned.

Your history

My Redemptions lists your recent redemptions, newest first, with the brand, its value in pounds, the coins spent, the date and a status. Processing means the order is going through, Delivered means it has been fulfilled, and Coins returned means it could not be completed and your coins were refunded.

The transaction history lists your recent coin movements, both earned and spent, with the date and time, the amount, and your balance after each one.

Good to know

  • Your employer can limit how many coins an activity pays in a day, week or month. Once you reach a limit, that activity pays no more coins until the period resets. The app does not show a message when this happens.
  • Your employer chooses which brands are available and can set a lower maximum value for a brand than the brand itself allows.
  • Tapping Redeem twice by accident within the same minute does not spend your coins twice.
  • Coins are separate from the Shop. Shop deals are not bought with coins.
